Purpose of Role

The Head of Nursing Services will act as a senior clinician and will:

• Operationally manage an integrated team of Telephone Outreach Nurse Case Managers, Proactive Discharge Planners and Case Management Associate
• Provide clinical and professional leadership to the team to ensure robust clinical governance.
• Ensure effective delivery against Client Health Services organisational performance indicators.
• Have operational responsibility for the Birmingham office on a day to day basis, including H&S and DR planning. Evaluate operational performance data (phone reports, nursing audits, etc) and implements procedural or training solutions to close gaps
• Participate in working with clients to shape, implement and deliver programmes with quality outcomes
• Accountable for meeting financial, operational and quality objectives of the department
• Ensure close working with all Client departments and colleagues to deliver and implement best practice workflows, policies, protocols, procedures and practices


1. Scope and Range

The Head of Nursing Services will manage, motivate and provide direction to a team consisting of Telephone Outreach nurses, discharge nurses and administration staff. The Head of Nursing Services has accountability for the effective implementation of individual performance management, mentorship, clinical supervision, coaching and personal development for their Team. The Chief Nurse will advise and lead on recruitment of all staff in the Birmingham office.
