The Registered nurse will provide individualised nursing care to residents, taking the responsibility of named nurse for a resident group, and to ensure that individual programmes of care are planned, executed and monitored so that a high quality of service is provided. To regularly take charge of shifts acting in the absence of the Scheme Manager as the qualified nurse in charge and to be responsible for the supervision and management of a group of Care Workers on a shift to shift basis.
To ensure that all aspects of Servite’s care and support service to residents of the scheme are maintained at a consistently high level. To be responsible for the health, safety and well being of all the residents in the home whilst on duty. To ensure that residents are assisted to live as independent a life as possible with choice, dignity and self motivation.
You duties will be to monitor nursing needs of all residents, make a thorough assessment of individual needs, write individual programmes of care for designated residents and ensure they are implemented. To liaise with local GP and other health and social care staff, as required, to maintain the health and well-being of residents. To carry out and supervise others in nursing and care procedures, ensuring good practice at all times, in accordance with UKCC requirements and guidelines. To maintain control in the storage, administration and recording of medicines. To assist residents with daily living activities, including eating, bathing, toileting and shopping.
You will be a qualified RMN, RGN. With experience of working as a nurse within a residential Nursing home. Working within care at senior level or as an RGN in a Continuing Care Unit, Day Hospital or Assessment Ward for the mentally ill elderly people. Also some supervisory experience.
Ideally you will have some understanding of management. Health and Safety requirements rota planning. Caring for older people, assessing needs and care planning for older people/mentally ill people. Keyworker skills.
