We are currently recruiting for a permanent, salaried community sister in the Blackheath area of South East London.

The hours are 37.5 hours a week and my client are offering a salary of £32,300.

You must have at least 3 years caring for the elderly and have a full clean driving license and use of a car.

Our Client has been helping the elderly suffering financial hardship for more than 300 years. They provide accommodation comprising independent living, sheltered housing, and a Care Home.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. To work as a team with the other Community Sisters to provide personal contact with the Residents of the College by visiting them regularly in their homes.

2. To discuss with the Medical Officer and Matron any needs, social problems or health concerns relating to Residents in the College community and to organise the Doctors’ surgeries.

3. To communicate and liaise with other professionals, (e.g. Social Services, Physiotherapists, Chiropodists, Occupational Therapists, the Health Centre and Hospitals) and to provide holistic support for all Residents.

4. To advise Residents on preventative healthcare, carry out ‘over 75' checks and assess general health needs of new Residents to College accommodation.

5. To carry out medical and nursing procedures as required including phlebotomy and ear syringing.

6. To advise on and check dosage and frequency of medication ordered by Residents.
