General Practice Rates of pay Per Hour

On call and visits/consultations whilst on call Rates of pay Per Hour

Hourly rate will be calculated to the nearest quarter of an hour.

Your daily rate will be based on hours worked & on-call from 08.00 to 20.00.
Night rates will be paid on hours worked & on-call from 20.00to 08.00.
Weekend rates will be paid from 20.00 on Friday to 08.00 on the Monday following.
Bank holiday rates will be paid on hours worked. 12pm midnight on the start of the holiday to 08.00 on the day after with the exception of Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve when Bank Holiday rates will apply on both days from 00.00 Midnight to 08.00 on the day following the Bank Holiday period.

On-call rate payable until a visit or consultation starts. The visit time will include travelling time.
Example: A doctor on-call responds to a call for a visit at 23.30, returning home at 00.25 - time on-call ends at 23.30 and recommences at 00.30. To identify which days are paid at Bank Holiday rates please call 0871 288 2424.

Rates

Our consultants work hard to ensure that we provide suitable accommodation for all Doctors working away from home. We will always negotiate with our clients to help meet the costs of this additional expense.*

GMC Registration

At present all Doctors who wish to work in the U.K. are required to register with the GMC. The exact conditions that govern your application vary depending upon your nationality.
