Rates
Team24 offers some of the most competitive rates (click here for current rates) in this field and can assure you that we negotiate hard for the benefit of EVERY doctor who works for us. Team24 has learnt from experience that our Doctors prefer to receive their pay on a weekly basis (not a policy employed by all agencies) we therefore pay all earnings directly into the Doctors account punctually.
Accommodation
Our consultants work hard to ensure that we provide suitable accommodation for all Doctors working away from home. We will always negotiate with our clients to help meet the costs of this additional expense.*
*Please discuss and agree expenses in advance of any placement.
GMC Registration
At present all Doctors who wish to work in the U.K. are required to register with the GMC. The exact conditions that govern your application vary depending upon your nationality. Specific details governing doctors from Commonwealth Countries, European Union countries and those other countries from around the world are listed in their respective sections.
If you are a citizen of the European Union and you wish to practice in the U.K. :
You will require a GMC registration to work in the U.K. However, the process from then onward is very simple.
Applying for GMC registration
If you have qualified from a member EEA state or Swiss medical school, or if you are an EEA or Swiss national, or non EEA/Swiss national with EC rights who has completed your internship (or were not required to do a period of internship) you may apply to the GMC for full registration. If you have not completed your internship period you are eligible to apply for a provisional registration.
If you are an EEA or Swiss national (or non EEA/Swiss national but with EC rights) who has not qualified at a medical school in the EEA the process is slightly different.
If you have qualified from a medical school listed on The World Health Organisations list of Medical Schools; If you have practiced in or gained medical experience within an EEA member state then you may be eligible for provisional or even full registration with the GMC. If you did not qualify at one of the World Health Organisations listed Medical Schools you will have to contact the GMC direct for further guidance.
If you have qualified from one of the listed medical schools but have not practiced or gained medical experience in an EEA member state then you have to fulfil one of the following two criteria to qualify for full membership:
You must be eligible for inclusion onto the GMC's specialist register by the Specialist Training Authority.
You have been awarded a Certificate of Equivalent Experience by the JCPTGP.
If you cannot meet this criteria then you will only be able to apply for limited registration.
VISA Situation
If you are an EEA national then you do not require a visa. There will only be a brief passport or identity check on arrival.
If you are to stay in the U.K. other than as a short-term visitor then you may apply for a Residence Permit from the immigration an Nationality Directorate.
