Tonya Hills - Director of IT and Innovation

Tonya joined Team24 in January 2009 and has been credited with revolutionising the company’s IT systems and processes, having introduced many innovative procedures which have helped to streamline the business and vastly increase revenue.

She brought in the Galago system, which radically redesigned Team24’s recruitment and sales processes and supporting IT system. This system is not only leading-edge, but has changed the whole practicality of the business. Team24 is now completely paperless, fully automated and operating out of a virtual cloud.

Her interest in the potential of the internet started in 1979, when she worked at The Source - the first commercial ISP in the United States. The company founders went on to set up AOL - and they inspired Tonya to pursue a career in the internet sector.

After graduating from Imperial College with a degree in Computing Science, Tonya held a number of major strategic e-commerce roles within BT plc, AXA Insurance and Lloyds of London. Since 1999, she has run her own e-business software company which specialised in providing solutions to local authorities.

Tonya has won a number of awards for her innovative approach to business ranging from technical awards from Microsoft, Cisco and Computer Weekly through to marketing and business awards from the DTI and CBI. Most recently, Galago was nominated for 2010’s UK IT Industry Awards.

Tonya is a regular long distance and marathon runner and this year will test herself in races across South America.
