JOB DESCRIPTION Unit Medical Director
The Role

The post holder will be a key member of the ISTC senior team and will participate in the out-of-hours rota on a 1 in 7 basis. Operationally reporting to the Unit Manager with professional accountability to the Group Medical Director, the Unit Medical Director will be responsible for developing clinical standards and for overseeing the delivery of high quality medical care to patients. Key responsibilities will be to:

1. Ensure the continuous development of high quality, innovative care.
2. Co-ordination of a multi-skilled, multi-disciplined and diverse workforce into a cohesive operational group delivering first class treatments to patients.
3. Support the integration of the clinical operations with those of the other centres, contributing to the enhancement of clinical standards generally across the group.
4. Contribute to the strategic growth of the business by identifying and responding to local population needs.
5. Provide Senior Management support and leadership, participating in the non-residential on call rota for Senior Managers, including internal cross-cover for annual/sick leave.
